Coffin Struggle's Biography

Coffin Struggle is a four-piece post-hardcore band formed in Majalengka, Indonesia in 2009. The band consists of Aldi Rivaldi Kusniawan (vocals), Wildan Hariz a.k.a Black Angel (guitar, vocals), Ari Purnama (drums), and Andi Darmika (bass). The band name was inspired from the trading card "Cheerful Coffin".

They have played several covers of The Used, Alone at Last*, Rosemary, Blink 182 and Yellowcard. In early 2009, Aldi wrote some lyrics to be used as the band's original song. The song is called "Terhempaskan Sepi". Wildan then arranged the song in acoustic. He also did a cover of Killing Me Inside's "Torment" and Alesana's "Early Mourning" as Coffin Struggle.

At the end of 2010, the band went on hiatus since the members are scattered between Bandung and Majalengka for educational purposes as they have graduated from high school. Ever since, Wildan has been covering songs by using the name Coffin Struggle. His most recent cover is on Alesana's "Endings without Stories". Lately, it is known that Aldi has documented the Bandung-based metalcore band Oath of Allegiance's latest tour, Ari plays drums in the Majalengka-based post-hardcore/trancecore band Headache ATTACK, and Andi focuses on his study while enjoying post-rock songs.
