Headache ATTACK!!!

And no, I’m not going to bitch about the literal headache in this post *chuckles*. Several months ago I saw a tweet about Headache ATTACK!!!. At first, I thought it is a name of an organization or an event or something, but it turned out that it is a band whose some of the members are my fellow friends in senior and junior high school.

Headache ATTACK!!! is a post-hardcore/trancecore band from Majalengka, Indonesia. Recently, they are said to be doing some gigs in which they are covering several songs from Alone at Last*, Sweet as Revenge, Adele, and Killing Me Inside. Here are three videos of their live performance that they posted on YouTube:

The synth sounded really nice at the beginning of their cover of Alone at Last*’s “Last Valentine Song”. It tried to mimic the intro of the original arrangement. The video is a little bit cut few minutes later though, but it continues playing after a short blank. The rest of their performance was pretty much in line with the original arrangement, with some shriek-y screams from both vocalists. There were some screaming parts which sounded a bit similar to that of Shawn Milke, btw. Their cover of Adele’s “Someone Like You” was rather surprising. They included a lot of screaming especially after the synth breakdown. It felt like listening to Punk Goes Pop covers when I listened to it, lol. As for the third video, they were covering "My Sweet Lullaby" by Sweet as Revenge. Their music developed to be darker than in the previous videos with some guitar solos.
